Time is an unraveling trail with too much on the back trail to keep up with. Especially these days, where so much is hardly even being regarded.
The Strawberry Festival started in 1930, still a tradition today and one of the largest such events in our country.
Here’s a loss for the Strawberry Festival: Ruby Redman. She and her family have a long history in Polk County with various spots sporting the Redman name.
Ruby was Strawberry Queen in 1953 and other members of her family have been honored with the title, too. Her 87 years were filled with accomplishments. Especially her time keeping the Strawberry Festival the success it’s been by volunteering with her husband.
As our state finds less and less dedicated as Ruby was with her community and important events, the loss of Florida citizens, like Ruby, are particularly sad.
