Swampy Live: Plans for Fort King in Ocala
Swampy attended an informative meeting of plans for the property that was the site of Fort King in Ocala. The location was pivotal during the Seminole Wars in the early 1800s.
The plans include interpretive hiking trails and, eventually, rebuilding the Fort in five years. The project is a joint venture of the City of Ocala, Marion County and private interests.
Great to see such an important Florida location get the treatment it deserves. Combine that with the plans seen earlier this week for Silver Springs, Marion County is building to substantial Eco-historical destination sites for tourists to visit.
I am excited for them to open the trails and walk it 😉 great seeing you today!!!
