I attended a great talk Thursday night all about, one of #Florida‘s earliest Governors, William Duval. The talk was given by James Denham whose newest book is ‘Florida Founder, William P. Duval – Frontier Bon Vivant’. Denham spoke in Gainesville at the Matheson History Museum that has a terrific roomy space for speakers.

Denham described Duval as a ‘Forest Gump’ in history in that he crossed paths with the most known during his time in the early 1800s from Andrew Jackson to Henry Clay to, Seminole chief, Neamathla to, Revolutionary War fighter & French aristocrat, Marquis de Lafayette.
