Last week posted a ‘Florida Festival’ postcard with a lot of history of the attraction near Sea World in south Orange County. As mentioned there lots of souvenirs were available. Here are a few of those souvenirs purchased by Swampy’s Rob more than 35 years ago. They’ve been stuffed in a Florida Festival bag ever since.

These are little critters made out of various small shells, painted and had eyeballs glued on. No receipt to know what he paid for them. It appears they were locally made. No ‘Made in Another Country’ label on any of them. Not seeing these much at all any more. There are a few places in Tarpon Springs, Sea Shell City in Navarre, Shell World near Fort Myers and scattered shops along our coast that I have seen efforts towards this quality, but no where near as good. The days of readily available hand made items in the Florida seem to be behind us.
