Here’s a view of the McArthur Dairy pasture land in Okeechobee County just north of the city of Okeechobee.
This view is not unlike what the pioneers viewed of the area in the 1800s.

McArthur Dairy began in 1929 by J. Neville McArthur in Miami. The brand was the common milk product throughout southeast Florida. The family sold out to Dean Foods in 1980. Dean fell into Chapter 11 a couple years ago. A New Yorker, Moishe Mana, who had moved to Dade County about the time Dean bought McArthur, bought the business in a last minute deal that salvaged the dairy.

Mana is the single largest land owner and developer in Downtown Miami and has been very actively adding to his real estate portfolio throughout southeast Florida.

This photo is from a Swampy trip in 2009.
