A wonderful experience to be had in our great state is a visit to The Bonnet House.

The idea may sound odd visiting a “House”. There are so many of unique and intricate design statewide. This one is far different, but must be seen to understand. The layout of the structure, the usage of space, the artsty bits about, the critters wandering is something to see.

The most important to note of the location is the entwining of natural Florida with a home, as all Florida homes should be. Noting The Bonnet House had no air conditioning during it’s early usage and still needs none. The construction is with respect to our nearly-unlivable conditions. Sadly most all homes are not built as such today, as the effort is for mass construction and special interests wanting a/c usage by residents.

The Bonnet House is as a Florida home should be and a learning experience for all, especially those involved with architecture.
