Cypress Gardens boat ride, 1974. – Swampy’s Florida Historic Photos.
One of the niftiest rides to take at Cypress Gardens was along through, what was left of, the cypress swamp that Dick Pope had built Cypress Gardens in. The water tour of Lake Eloise, that Cypress Gardens sat on the shore of, would have tourists the probable only cypress trees they’d encounter. The boat would also skim past a fine gazebo, in the background, that well trimmed Southern Belles would perch near.
Note the folks in boat: Not a camera in sight. Today, phone doohickeys would be propped up by all.
